Adenosine is a compound that is naturally present in almost every cell in the human body. It consists of an adenine molecule linked to a ribose sugar molecule. It is one of the four nucleosides that make up the RNA molecule, and the phosphate forms of adenosine are responsible for the transfer of energy between cells. A 2006 study conducted on 126 women between the ages of 45 and 65 showed significant improvement and smoothing of wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes and deep frown lines after just 2 weeks of using a cream with adenosine.
