The sun's rays are all around us, whether you're walking on the beach, enjoying the shade of a café, or sitting on a balcony. Did you know that some UV rays can even penetrate window glass? That's why it's extremely important to know how to properly protect yourself from harmful UVA and UVB rays, but we must not forget that sunburned skin requires special care.
HOW TO PROPERLY CARE FOR FACIAL SKIN AFTER SUN EXPOSURE
CLEANING
After a day of sweat and sunscreen that has been absorbed into your face, it is imperative to thoroughly cleanse your face. With a facial cleanser, you remove all the impurities that have accumulated on your face during the day and achieve a fresh and clean look for your skin. By this, we do not mean using makeup remover wipes or micellar water - the face must be washed and washed with a gel, foam, cleansing balm or oil cleanser, while during the summer the popular double cleansing method of the face is recommended, which involves massaging the oil cleanser onto a dry face and, after washing, applying a cleansing gel that thoroughly removes all remaining impurities from the face.
PEELING
Peeling is recommended to be used once or twice a week to deeply remove impurities and remove dead skin cells. Keep in mind that regular facial and body peeling accelerates the loss of tan, so adjust the frequency according to what you are aiming for. Facial peeling must be gentle enough to remove a layer of dry, dead skin cells and the impression of lifelessness from the face, without causing irritation or increasing the skin's sensitivity to the sun. Peeling can be mechanical or chemical, and both types can increase skin sensitivity to the sun. As a rule, chemical peels are gentler than mechanical ones, and among them it is better to use those based on BHA instead of AHA acids in the summer, because AHA acids make the skin more sensitive to the sun. It is desirable that the chemical peel you use in the summer also contains photoprotective ingredients, such as ectoine, which will further increase the skin's resistance to the sun. L'ADRIA Clarifying serum is an example of just such a chemical peel that is gentle, non-drying, and full of photoprotective ingredients, making it ideal for the summer period.
HYDRATION
Hydration of the skin is extremely important in the summer period when, due to the drying effects of the sun and sea salt, transepidermal water loss can increase. This is a process in which the skin barrier weakens and loses water, which quickly leads to dehydration. It is especially important to thoroughly nourish the skin after returning from the beach. Before applying the cream, we recommend using a moisturizing tonic that will restore the skin's pH balance and provide the original dose of hydration and using a hyaluronic serum such as the L'ADRIA Instant Revitalization Serum, which will quickly restore the much-desired "water" to the skin. Finally, it is important to choose soothing, but not greasy creams with antioxidants that neutralize free radicals and reduce skin redness caused by UV radiation, so that the skin can quickly recover after the sun. An ideal product for restoring facial skin after sun exposure is L'ADRIA Regenerative cream, as it contains a high dose of vitamin E and the amino acid carnosine, which simultaneously stimulate recovery and reduce skin redness after exposure to UV radiation.
